The Heart has its Reasons!

Dr. Anand Somaya, Consultant – Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgeon, Bombay Hospital, will talk on the causes, prevention and treatment for various types of heart disease.

Dr Somaya attended an organ transplant fellowship at Pittsburg, the best transplant centre in the world. He founded the Vascular Society of India and was President from 1997 to 1999. He published several papers in international journals on cardio vascular surgery and started the first vein clinic in Mumbai, in the management and treatment of all types of vein disease.

The talk will educate us on how significant incidences of heart problems   can easily be prevented. Also, with a few simple do’s and don’ts during pregnancy, cardiac defects in the developing child can be prevented.   Rheumatic heart disease is now completely eradicated in the western world through awareness and education, and we hope to achieve the same results in India!
