Demonstration on “Serigraphy”
Parul V Mehta is an award winning artist and has been practicing for several years. Though painting is her preferred medium, Parul has tried her hand at print making too. She became interested in the fine art of “Serigraphy” after she viewed works of the masters of print making from India, Japan and other countries.
“Serigraphy” is a Latin/Greek word which combines to mean - Latin for Seri is silk and Greek for graphein is to write or draw. “Serigraphy” is an old print making technique. It can be tried by novices with no art background and also by professional artists who like to add a little difference to their styles and techniques in their works.
Please note that printing chemicals are used in this demonstration. Therefore, anyone who is sensitive to chemicals used in printing, are advised not to attend.
Please call Jeannie Madan on Monday, 1st September 2014 between 11:00am – 1:00pm to register for this meeting.
