SHALL WE WALTZ? A VIENNESE WALTZ TUTORIAL
“An der schoenenblauenDonau” (By the beautiful blue Danube ) is the most popular Viennese Waltz written by the Austrian composer Johann Strauss Junior in the early 19th Century. This masterpiece of Viennese Culture is since then part of the historical Viennese Opera Ball, the world famous New Years Concert by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and a popular wedding dance of many couples marrying in Austria.
Selma Kriegner, our Indus member and this year’s President grew up with this music. Being from Vienna, as early as a 16 year old girl she learned the Viennese Waltz in a prestigious dance school. Since then she has been teaching dance with an unconventional twist to the traditional way.
You may not master the dance to perfection in one morning, but you can get the taste of its dynamic movements and techniques.
So ladies please join us for a fun Viennese Waltz Dance Class morning!
