WHAT IS AN INDIAN TEMPLE DOING IN THE 'PHILADELPHIA MUSEUM OF ART'?

This question will be answered by Darielle Mason, who is the Stella Kramrisch Curator oflndian and Himalayan Art and Head of the Department of South Asian Art at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She holds a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania where she is adjunct professor.

She led the curatorial team that transformed Philadelphia's South Asian Art galleries, breaking traditional museum boundaries of time and geography to explore regionally and universally relevant themes. Darielle will highlight important aspects of Indian and Himalayan Art, especially the temple at the Museum and the story behind it getting there, and the Textile collection of the Philadelphia Museum ofArt in her talk.

Accompanying her is Sujoy Bose, an avid art collector and a member of the Philadelphia Museum of Art's Acquisition Committee for Indian and Himalayan Art.

Come join us and our speaker, from Philadelphia!
