NATYA SHASTRA ART PROJECT

Young artist Reha Shishodia will be giving a talk about her approach to depict various dance forms and their various poses (mudras) through the use of mixed media in order to recreate the magic of the old Indian era. She has been inspired by the Natya Shastra, an ancient Indian treatise on the performing arts, encompassing theatre dance and music, which Reha interprets in a much wider scope.

The heart of her work is the Apsara Installation – A dancing lady. Around the installation will be the art works displaying the grace and rhythm in different dance forms.

Reha was a participant at the Kala Ghoda Art Festival with one of her installations.

Note that due to the relatively small venue we have to limit this event to 25 people. Please call Gabriele Siebert to make a reservation.
