UNDERSTANDING THE BOHRA CULTURE

Architecture is a form of Art that gives us our living environment.

It also tells beautiful stories of our past, present and future.

Come meet Fatema Pittalwala as she takes us through a ‘Visual Journey of the historical and religious architectural Bohra sites.’

Her talk will focus on monuments that she has visited in Iraq, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, her journey there, why she went and her take away from these places, illustrated with photographs of buildings and other design elements.

Fatema currently works at Pundole’s (an Indian art auction house) as a Senior Cataloger and researcher. She has previously worked closely with Christie’s India.

Her aim in this talk this morning, is to bring awareness of this small Gujarati-speaking Bohra community, who have nevertheless made a significant contribution to the Indian Diaspora.
