MokshaShots: Episode 12, The Conquest of the Mind

On view today is a satirical art show by the artist Jenny Bhatt whose art and self is bright, vibrant and full of life.  Her quirky sense of humour underlies her paintings and personality. Known for her exploration of colour, firm and texture,  Jenny enlightens us further with her philosophy on consumerism in her series of MokshaShots.

This series of paintings uses humour to comment on social and cultural practices prevalent today.  It examines the internal and external entities that strive to conquer the mind and influence it to fulfill their own agenda.

In Hindu and Buddhist philosophy, Moksha means salvation.  Jenny’s definition of a MokshaShot is a taste of the sublime.  Each of us can make our own MokshaShot out of anything we find fulfilling, such as art, music, a vacation, a muffin, or even a tequila shot!

The exhibition will continue until 1st February 2015.
