UNRAVELLING THE INNER BEAUTY OF THE GHAZAL

In recent times poetry (especially Urdu poetry) has seen a resurgence amongst the masses.

True talent will always receive the accolades it deserves. It is with this phenomenon that Rochana Dahanukar with her melodious voice and inimitable style commands respect and a large fan following, a Mallika -e-Mausiqui in India and abroad.

She received training from an early age in Hindustani classical music from the late Pandit Satyanarayan Singhji of the Patiala Ghaarana. She received tutelage in Urdu by the late Prof. Shamir Gaya, which has enhanced her rendering of the Ghazal. She is currently receiving training in the Khayal and Thumri Gayaki from Smt. Geeta Prem. 

She is also a composer. Many of her Ghazal renditions are her own compositions. Rochana is also a voice trainer and has trained quite a few successful artists Viva, Caliche, Neha Bhasin to name a few. We are fortunate to have Rochana sing for us and explain the nuances of the Ghazal.

This is going to be a very soulful musical morning.
