DIVYA PALAT – A BALANCING ACT

At 15, Divya debuted as Liesl in late Hosi Vasunia’s ‘Sound of Music’. At 17 she played Amir Raza Hussain’s Sita in ‘Legend of Ram’. She worked with Ketan Mehta in ‘Captain Vyom’ on television and then did commercial Hindi films. Her ambition was to direct her own productions.

Today Divya has her own production house – Balancing Act Productions. She writes, produces, directs and acts. She has recently ventured into the digital space.

Her play ‘A Personal War’ on Mumbai’s terror attacks won the Best free play at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Best Director at New York and the Best Script, Director, Producer and Actor awards at Sydney.

Backstage drama is often more exciting than the performance itself and Divya gives us a glimpse “behind the scenes”.
