The artistic evolution of Indian art Come join us for coffee at Saffron art, India’s leading art auction house, for an exclusive viewing of art over the centuries.

Ranging from an iconic 11th century sandstone sculpture of Mahishasurmardini (image of Durga’s triumph over the buffalo-demon) and 18th century miniature paintings from the well-known Motichand Khajanchi Collection, to the modern masters - MF Husain, FN Souza and others, Saffronart’s CEO, Hugo Weihe, and Co-Founder, Minal Vazirani, will walk us through the breadth of India’s artistic production over time. Learn how historical art influences contemporary practice, why modern art was a political movement, and what makes a certain artwork a masterpiece.
